A core site is one where a student can complete all core rotations, such as family medicine, internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics and psychiatry. Radiology, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, orthopedics, cardiology and many other elective rotations are available. A core site usually has housing available at a low cost.
